To our wonderful donors,

Thank you for being patient with us during these uncertain times. Since our last update, UCLA has announced that all spring quarter classes will be held remotely, students have been encouraged to move out of the dorms, and all in-person events have been cancelled - including cultural nights. After much deliberation, it is with extremely heavy hearts that Committee has decided that we will not be physically holding the Samahang Pilipino Cultural Night this year. Though it breaks our hearts to do so, this is the best option for our community’s health and safety.

That is not to say that anyone’s time and effort will be - for a lack of a better term - scrapped. As an alternative to our traditional live performance, the SPCN Committee will spend spring quarter creating a documentary series on the production. 

In terms of our Spark Campaign, we were blown away by your support! Together, we raised $11,141, surpassing our $10,000 goal. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you are wondering where your donations will go towards, they are safe in our account for future SPCN use, whether it be a physical cultural night or other alternatives based on the pandemic. However, we understand if you would like a refund for your donation. If so, please email donorrelations@support.ucla.edu.

We’re devastated that we’ve had to make this decision. We hope that you all, our beloved on- and off-campus communities, are taking time to be with your loved ones and focus on your health. This is not the end of the #roadtothe43rd, just an unexpected turn. We’re grateful for each and every one of you for your continuous support, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

SPCN News: Last Saturday, the entire SPCN cast and committee had a photoshoot for our program followed by the last full run-thru (SPCN's way of saying practice) of the show of this academic quarter! Cast and committee worked tirelessly this quarter to prepare for our show on May 2nd and we can't wait for you to see it!
